Hey Sis,
How are you? Doing good? I’m glad to hear that. You deserve to be doing well. You work hard, you provide for your kids, and you still find a way to show up for yourself (even if it’s rare, you still do it). Hats off to you! Pat yourself on the back and be proud that you are having a happy moment in your life. If you aren’t doing good, I’m sorry to hear that. Motherhood has some rough moments, and when we throw life on top of it, those rough moments can feel unbearable. But I promise you, as I always say, this rough moment is temporary. It is not possible for a season to last forever; I am a firm believer of this. Some seasons are rough, and feel very unnecessarily extended, but at some point, they do end and become a thing of the past. Keep pressing forward Sis, you got this, and you will see a brighter day. Okie dokie, we’ve completed our pep talk for this month, although brief I hope you found it encouraging.
Well, are you ready? If you are a long time subscriber, you already know what happens in the month of September. . .
9 years ago I did a thing called Walk A Day In My Culture. It was the start of my newsletter journey, where I wrote to you all about my experiences as a Black woman, and encouraged mental health providers who followed my newsletter to pay attention to cultural blind spots when working with my community (the Black Community). 2 years ago, I did another thing, I began a second newsletter called Girl, You Got This! For an entire year I wrote two newsletters, every month. And then, a little over a year ago, I did another thing, I completely pivoted and fully merged my two newsletters. Walk A Day In My Culture and Girl, You Got This became one newsletter, Bloom Into Your Best Self. I took a chance and decided to title my newsletter to match my brand and business, but more importantly, I decided to write about the topics I love and that are reflective of the actual work that I do. In doing so, I Bloomed Into MY Best Self.
For the past year, I have loved writing about motherhood and sharing tips on how to survive this thing called #momlife. I’ve been so happy to hear that you all are loving the newsletter and the content I create for you all. It means a lot when you all reach out and tell me how helpful a topic was. For the past 9 years I have thoroughly enjoyed writing to you all. And as I always do on my newsletter anniversaries, I have a special announcement to share with you. But first I want to say. . .

I know I say this every year, but I really couldn’t do this without you. Over half of you have been with me since 2016 and have followed my stories and my writing journey. 9 years is a long time to rock with someone, and I don’t take that lightly, so thank you so much for being a long term subscriber. For those who’ve been with me for a few years, I also thank you. It’s very easy to click unsubscribe when someone shows up in your inbox, but the fact that you haven’t left AND you read my content means a lot to me. And for my newer subscribers, you also hold a very special place in my heart. It’s because of you that I keep growing and expanding, you show me that my messages can still reach NEW people, and that makes me excited. Reaching new subscribers is a big deal, AND for a new subscriber to stick is an ever bigger deal! So thank you. I am beyond grateful for EACH and EVERY one of you.
Alright, I’ve dragged it out long enough. Are you ready for this year’s anniversary announcement? Okay, here goes. . .
I’m releasing a paid tier of my newsletter, specific to all things motherhood. Don’t worry, this newsletter isn’t going anywhere, and neither is the quality of what I share here monthly. You will still get AMAZING newsletters with amazing content, and I will still show up in your inbox every month (and sometimes more as I occasionally do). The paid tier of my newsletter is more so for moms who want a little bit more, who need a sprinkle more of encouragement as you walk this journey called motherhood.
I can go on and on about what this tier of my new newsletter is all about and what it includes, but since I worked so hard on creating it, I’ll just let you take a look for yourself. Feel free to click on the link below to learn more about the newsletter.
Again, from the bottom of my heart, thank you! Next month we will be back to our regularly scheduled newsletter which will be full of encouragement and motivation. But until then, make sure you do something that will help you Bloom Into Your Best Self. . .
